Research Projects
We often get requests for people to participate in research into depression. This page has been set up to put people who are interested in taking part in research in touch with researchers. If you want to advertise your research on this page, please contact us at markd@dascot.org . All research must be approved by a reputable organisation and researchers must respect participants' confidentiality. Participants must be able to change their minds at any time.

Do You Use Online Self-Help
Therapies?
Eliane Du, a
PhD student, is currently looking for people who have used or are
currently using internet-based self-help websites for improving their
mental well-being. She wants to find out your views on such websites:
how you use/used them; whether they help/helped you; and what you
like/liked or did not like about them. She is also interested to hear from people who looked at such
sites but did not begin to use them, or people who stopped using them or
did not complete the course.
What Will This Involve?
She would like
to interview you about your experiences. This would be done online using
Email, Skype, or Instant Messenger (whatever you prefer).
What Do I Do Now?

Have you been off work long term due to Anxiety or Depression?
For many, returning to work, or managing someone's return to work following sickness absence can be a challenging process. To improve the return-to-work process and to make it less overwhelming for all parties involved, Goldsmiths University of London, are undertaking research looking at the line manager's effectiveness at facilitating employee return-to-work.
If you are a manager who has recently managed or about to manage an employee returning to work following long term sickness absence (4 weeks continuous or more) due to anxiety and Depression, back pain, heart disease or cancer, then it would be greatly appreciated if you could spend 30 minutes filling out a questionnaire. To access the questionnaire then simply click on the link below:

It would therefore be greatly appreciated if you could please forward this email onto the other party involved within your return to work process (either employee or manager). All information gathered from the questionnaires will be anonymous and completely confidential. All information will be held by Goldsmiths, University of London and only for the research. Its storage and usage will conform to the requirements of the Data Protection Act (1998).
There will be a follow up questionnaire sent out in 6 months time. If you complete both questionnaires you will be entered into a raffle with the chance of winning one of four, £50 prize vouchers for a top High Street shop. We can also keep you up to date with our findings and any future developments within the field.
Many thanks for any information you can give which will improve the return to work process for everyone involved.
